JONATHAN KOH {許華强 }
Jonathan started playing professionally at the age of 24. Gaining experience at the Singapore night scene, he decided to become a recording engineer after 8 years of playing in various clubs with the kind support of the late Maestro Iskandar Ismail . He also started playing in some recording sessions soon after, mostly for Eric Moo and artistes from Curtain Taiwan amongst others.

Joining Midi-Citi Recording studio as a recording engineer in 1989, he was exposed to numerous Taiwanese and local artistes and producers like Sky Wu 伍思凱, Su Rei蘇芮, Eric Moo巫啟賢, Paula Ma馬玉芬 and Dick Lee. He was also involved in a huge number of Taiwanese recordings at that time, playing various roles including arrangements, guitar sessions and engineering. He was asked to produce Eric Moo’s million selling album “太傻” and was subsequently involved in most of Eric Moo’s albums that followed. The albums include:

After leaving Midi-Citi studio in 1992, he was heavily involved in concerts, producing, writing and guitar sessions. In 1997, he wrote 3 songs for Taiwanese Amei 張惠妹 with includes “解脫”{She’s Gone} which became a major hit and was released in an English version on the “DEMO” album. He was also involved in 4 major Amei’s asia concert tour in 1998, 1999, 2004 & 2011.

He was also called to produce for artistes such as AMei 張惠妹, Jeff Chang(张信哲), 江美琪, Dick lee and others. Jonathan has also written songs for Jeff Chang(张信哲), 林育羣(偏愛),
熊天平(心碎的冰咖啡), Eric Moo, Power Station, 江美琪 , Fish Leong(一夜長大), Sammi
Cheng, William So, 范瑋琪 (長頭髮) and various Taiwanese artistes. He also did the guitar
arrangement for 那英 (夢一場)
As a guitar player, apart from Amei (1998,1999.2004,2011-2013) he has also toured with Jeff Chang (2015-2016), Eric Moo, Sally Yeh and George Lam, Chang Yue, Singapore’s own Dick lee, and various others. He was also involved in local musicals Beauty World, A Soldier and his virtuous wife, Tien Len, Lao Jiu and Admiral’s Odyssey. He also appeared as a quest guitarist for Terry Lin in Episode 12 on the 2017 season of “Singer” 2017
Nowadays, apart from producing local albums, Jonathan is using his God-given talents in preaching the Gospel of Christ and teaching worship teams locally as well as in China, Malaysia, Taiwan and North America. He is still touring as a session musician.
