John Norum
A founding member of Europe, John Norum has shaped the sound of hard rock since the early ’80s. His journey began with Force — the original name of Europe — culminating in the iconic The Final Countdown (1986), a global hit that made the band a household name. After leaving Europe at the peak of their success, Norum launched a successful solo career with Total Control (1987), earning platinum status in Sweden and multiple national music awards.
Over the years, he collaborated with major names including Glenn Hughes, Kelly Keeling, Don Dokken, and played with Dokken both in studio and on tour. His solo albums Face the Truth (1992), Another Destination (1995), and Slipped Into Tomorrow (1999) further showcased his signature style — melodic, powerful, and deeply rooted in blues and classic rock.
Norum officially returned to Europe in 2003, reuniting the original lineup. Since then, the band has released six studio albums, while Norum continued to explore his personal sound on Optimus (2005) and Play Yard Blues (2010). In 2022, he unveiled Gone to Stay, marking a return to his blues-rock roots with renewed energy and maturity.
Several Paoletti models have accompanied his musical journey through the years, including his signature Wine SSS and a Black Seicento Loft with dual P90s. For his 2025 tour, he’s playing the new 500 Lounge 2P90 Chianti Wine — a bold choice with a distinct look and character.
