Wood Essences & Paoletti Guitars neck woods.

Paoletti’s Guitars and Basses have a reclaimed chestnut body, which is the heart and main part of the instrument, and the one which gives you the original voice of an authentic Paoletti.

Our chestnut is carefully selected and recovered all around Italy from wine barrels that are no longer used to make wine.

Chestnut offers a long sustain, rich vibrations and a complete coverage of the harmonic spectrum. The harmonics are strong from low to high frequencies, and with the neck you select, the sound is going to be more focused on some of these.

FOCUS ON THE NECK WOODS

THE PROCESS OF ROASTING AT PAOLETTI GUITARS

All the guitars necks offered, are made out of hard maple, each neck is roasted here in our oven.
When a neck is roasted, it becomes more stable, lightweight, and takes on an aged caramel color. The increase in stability is truly surprising—the necks are far more resistant to temperature and humidity change. And, the tone is rich of harmonics, a perfect pair with the reclaimed chestnut body!

DESCRIPTION, HOW IT IS MADE ?
During the process, water, sugars, and resins are cooked off, leaving behind cellulose and lignum. Lignum is the glue that binds the cellulosic fibers together. Curing in this process increases the stability of the piece. Distribution of lignum is optimized and made consistent throughout the piece, resulting in greater stability of the wood.

Roasted color is maintained throughout the wood without the use of stains or chemicals. Stiffness, strength, and the integrity of the wood are better maintained. Microstructure is similar to naturally aged woods. Hazardous chemicals are not used.

ROASTED MAPLE TONE METER:

What we would like to offer to all our clients from 2020, is a roasted maple neck on every Paoletti Guitar, which can be paired with TEAK WOOD or PAU FERRO.

TEAK WOOD:
Its high density, hardness, and stability, in addition to its color (black or brown depending on the variety), make it ideal for fingerboards. Moreover, Blackwood Tek has a stable moisture content of 5%, and is resistant to changes in humidity and temperature with minimal fluctuation. (click to read more)
